HOMELESS ACTION SCOTLAND

We are delighted to be working with Homeless Action Scotland (HAS) – an organisation whose ambition is to cover all issues relating to homelessness in Scotland – to recruit new Trustees to their Board. Over the course of their 43 year history the organisation has evolved from being volunteer based, focused on ending the provision of traditional night shelters, to a professional staffed membership charity whose mission is to be the leading organisation influencing and supporting the development and implementation of effective policy and practice that meets the challenges of homelessness in Scotland. With the recent appointment of a new CEO, Gavin Yates, this is an exciting time to join HAS and help to invigorate and steer the organisation into its next phase of development.

We are seeking individuals who share the values and ethos of HAS and can use their skills and experience to support a Scotland-wide organisation with a varied and ever-changing set of challenges to address. Particular experience of homelessness or housing policy is not essential; the crucial feature we are looking for in our Board Members is a strong belief that homelessness should be a relic of the past and not a stain on our present.

Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate broad experience of corporate governance, sound business understanding and the ability to think strategically, and will have experience at Board level and knowledge of the non-profit sector. In particular we are seeking people with experience of income generation, marketing and public relations, strategic planning and digitalisation.

For more information and to apply, please visit www.aspenpeople.co.uk/HAS or for a confidential discussion please call Donogh O’Brien or Lauren Neil on 0141 212 7555.
