They say that in a real emergency life or death situation the best health insurance available is the National Health Service. But all our medical aches and pains are not necessarily life or death emergency situations, and if we want a measure of choice either in the timing or in the personalities involved , then we must pay for it, and fund that through health insurance unless we are happy to self-insure.
